It’s fair to say that given his limitations in the ring, Fred Ottman had a decent run in WWE. He initially appeared as Hulk Hogan's babyface ally Tugboat in 1990, before turning heel and aligning himself with Earthquake. Ottman was renamed Typhoon and the pair would capture the WWE World Tag Team Championship as The Natural Disasters. The team would split up when Earthquake left to tour Japan in 1993.

Realising his prospects were limited as a singles competitor in WWE, Ottman opted to join WCW. It was there that he would make the most memorable debut of all time.

His infamous entrance came at Clash of the Champions XXIV during the interview segment, 'A Flair for the Gold'. Just days ahead of the Fall Brawl pay-per-view, Sid Vicious and Harlem Heat demanded to know who Sting and The Bulldogs’ mystery partner would be. Sting bellowed, “our partner will shock the world because he is none other than The Shockmaster!”. It was at that moment that Ottman crashed through the cardboard wall. Few would forget him tripping over and knocking off his glitter-covered Stormtrooper helmet.

Ottman fumbled around to put his headgear back on. He even completed the promo but his WCW career was dead before the helmet had even hit the floor.
