10 Wrestlers Whose Entrances Were Better Than Their Matches
6. The Boogeyman
Like Gangrel, this creepy character just couldn’t live-up to his exceptional gimmick/entrance in matches. He had a bizarre persona that probably would have made him a headline star in the ‘80s though.
The Boogeyman’s tribal ‘Coming To Get You’ theme was fantastic. The way he would crawl on the entrance way and shake and convulse his red head and body was a vivid sight. And carrying a wooden staff that would emit orange smoke before he smashed a clock on his head to pyro going off was spellbinding to watch.
But that was as good as it got with Boogey. He was much more attraction that wrestler. He was a limited performer that mostly competed in squash matches whilst in WWE. After debuting in 2005 on SmackDown! in a very quick win over Simon Dean, he was known more for antics than holds/moves, like casually eating the growth off Jillian Hall’s face and abducting Hornswoggle.
Even his most famous match at WrestleMania 22 against Booker T and Sharmell in an inter-gender handicap match lasted less than 4 minutes in total, and of those 4 minutes it was mostly antic driven, with Boogeyman kissing Sharmell with a mouthful of worms in his mouth before nailing his Falling Chokebomb finisher on Booker for the thankful-it’s-over win.
