10 Wrestlers Whose Theme Music Was More Over Than They Were
1. Bobby Roode
Glorious, Bobby Roode's Queen inspired arena rock anthem, was actually written for Freddie Mercury fan Shinsuke Nakamura.
Nakamura, however, was as keen on the tune as Roode is on adding strings to his pro wrestling bow, leaving it to Roode - who turned it into his livelihood.
The infectious hook-driven chorale found instant favour with the contemporary WWE live crowds, just as keen on singing along with entrance music as inventing their own chants, lending Roode's entrance the added element of crowd participation.
Rechristened as the 'Glorious' Bobby Roode, with a new sequined Glorious robe and using his new Glorious Bomb and Glorious DDT finishers; Roode prostituted his new theme song and turned it into his entire gimmick. While his matches were still as pedestrian as they had been in TNA, Roode was now flying high, solely on the sing-along appeal of a theme song that wasn't even meant for him.
However, it wasn't to last. Despite being such a fan favourite down in NXT - despite his admittedly archaic wrestling style - Roode was left rudderless on the main roster, turned into a smiling babyface with not much going for him beyond a catchy theme tune.
