10 Wrestlers Whose Weight Problems Became Gimmicks

5. Vickie Guerrero

After the tragic passing of all-time great Eddie Guerrero, WWE offered an on-screen job to his widow, Vickie. Implausibly, Vickie became one of WWE's top heels, with a tenure that lasted until last year. She was absolutely excellent at drawing heat, and she did everything the company asked of her, which often made for some very humiliating moments. One can argue that a lot of the embarrassment Vickie suffered - such as losing a hogpen match - was simply part and parcel of being a heel on a wrestling show, but a frequent theme of her tenure with the company was that she was the butt of jokes about her weight. Vickie was never obese, but these jokes continued even after she had shed 50 pounds, and after WWE began to promote its hypocritical anti-bullying campaign. Censored nude pictures of Guerrero "leaked" prior to WrestleMania XXV were played for comedy, and after the event, she was the target of insulting barbs from Santino Marella as the pair feuded over the Miss WrestleMania title. Still, the greatest offender was Jerry Lawler (or more accurately, Vince McMahon via Lawler as a mouthpiece), who spent the better part of a decade rudely making fun of Vickie from his position on commentary.
