The Brothers of Destruction storyline may well be one of the best tales that wrestling has ever told.

The coming of Undertaker’s physically incinerated younger brother Kane, who he believed to be dead, was something that had us glued to our screens in 1997. For all of the incredible moments that Kane and the Undertaker have shared however, the Big Red Machine has had a career worthy of that Hall of Fame ring in his own right.

Glenn Jacobs calls himself lucky for the opportunity presented to him to play such a high profile role. After all, he knew what it was like to have a bad gimmick or two and was probably craving his big break.

During the 1990s, wrestling was transforming and at times the WWF really struggled to figure out what audiences wanted to see. By the time of Yankem’s debut, the idea of a gimmick based around a profession (such as I.R.S. and the Repo Man) was very much old hat. An evil dentist just had no place in the evolving state of wrestling, and despite cutting that imposing figure, Yankem would not get over.
