If you thought Kofi Kingston had a poor record when it comes to World Wrestling Entertainment ladder matches, Shelton Benjamin fans should probably look away. Shelton took part in the same number of ladder matches as Kofi (eight, with five Money in the Bank appearances) but doesn't even have that single victory to take away. Shelton's success rate in WWE ladder matches is a fairly depressing 0%.

Even so, you could argue that he was the highlight of the first few Money in the Bank matches. It was in these bouts that his athleticism first truly shone more, in particular his memorable run up the ladder to clothesline Christ Jericho way back at WrestleMania 21. Shelton has also taken some of the most terrifying falls in WWE ladder history, providing Carlito with the most memorable moment of the Cool One's career.

Shelton is often rumoured to be on his way back to WWE, but even if this happens I wouldn't expect him to finally get a ladder match victory under his belt.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
