10 Wrestlers With The Worst Motivations
9. A Story That Should Have Died In The Womb
Splitting siblings up is never a good idea unless those siblings have the surname Hart. It has never worked with the Hardys, it never even worked with fictional siblings such as the Dudleys, Edge & Christian or the Brothers of Destruction. Why oh why would it work with Nikki and Brie Bella?
It didn’t, but WWE’s creative team seemed to lose control before this one even got going. Nikki eventually turned on Bria, smashing her in the face at SummerSlam 2014 and allowing Stephanie McMahon to pick up the victory. What followed was one of the worst examples of WWE acting in, well, forever.
Sure, we all remember the ‘I wish you died, IN THE WOMB’ line, but Nikki’s reasons for turning on Brie were all over the place. Nikki claimed that Brie stole boyfriends and got Nikki in trouble. Brie denied it and Nikki didn’t bother continuing the theme, deciding instead to jump to dramatic comments about not having a sister and the aforementioned ‘womb’ thing.
The whole thing made no sense, nobody was convinced, the acting was atrocious and all the rest. To make matters worse, the story lasted for a hot cup of coffee before the sisters were back together. WWE wanted the fans to forget this, but some things just can’t be forgotten.
