10 Wrestlers With The Worst Motivations

3. I'm Already Famous, So Make Me Famous

Diamond Dallas Page was one of the first big-name WCW stars to sign with WWE following the former’s demise. The lack of stars was one of the many reasons the Invasion failed, but can you blame WCW’s legends for staying away? When they saw how DDP was booked, signing up for the same treatment was about as unappealing as it gets.

DDP made his WWE debut in unceremonious terms. Someone was stalking The Undertaker’s wife, and that ‘someone’ ended up being Page. His reasoning? He wanted to anger The Undertaker, in the hope that the Dead Man would eventually ‘make him famous’.

Wait, make DDP famous? You mean to say that three-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion DDP wasn’t already famous, at least in pro wrestling terms? If the stalker had ended up being someone like Mike Sanders or Lash LeRoux then sure, but DDP? It made no sense.

The Undertaker dominated the feud, diminishing DDP’s star power in the process.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
