10 Wrestlers WWE Failed In 2022

With the Garza now once again dropped from his name, Angel is a good looking third-generation talent who is a hugely exciting presence between the ropes and who oozes charisma. As a babyface or a heel, the 30-year-old can be massively effective, and his in-ring skillset means he can work a great match with almost any opponent.

So, here we are in 2022, with Angel being barely used on WWE programming.

Having previously feuded with his real-life cousin Humberto (don't call him Carrillo), the pair were teamed up as Los Lotharios towards the end of 2021. While Angel in particular had significant potential to be a prominent singles star, this pairing was at least one filled with promise. Humberto may not have the same charisma and personality as his cousin, but he's extremely capable in-ring, and this tandem could and should be a fun one brimming with energetic excitement once they step into the ring.

Unfortunately, 2022 has been a total bust for Los Lotharios.

As a unit, Angel and Humberto have only two TV wins in this past year; against the New Day back in February, then a victory over Jinder Mahal and Shanky in May. For the most part, WWE has only opted to bring out Los Lotharios when they need solid workers to put out over teams (such as Hit Row) or to pad out multi-team matches.

In the case of Angel, the one-time Cruiserweight Champion has likewise been utilised in this sort of role when a singles act needs to look good against a capable worker. Simply put, the former El Hijo del Ninja deserves better.
