It may seem ridiculous in 2017, but at one time where the was a convincing school of thought that said Ted DiBiase Jr. was the only real choice when it came to ending The Undertaker's undefeated WrestleMania streak.

'The Million Dollar Man' Ted DiBiase had brought The Undertaker into the WWE, so how apt would it be for his son to end the monster he created? DiBiase was viewed by many as a major star in waiting, a view WWE seemingly shared when DiBiase won tag team gold on his first night in the company,

DiBiase soon found himself in a faction with fellow Fortunate Sons Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes, a group of blue-chippers if ever there was one. The Legacy faction was put together in order to mould Rhodes and DiBiase into future main event performers, and when the stable imploded at WrestleMania XXVI there was every chance that this would come to be. DiBiase was about to become his own man, to spread his wings after learning at the tree of Orton for two years.

Instead DiBiase became a poor clone of his father, with his lack of charisma coming through all too clearly. The voices calling for DiBiase to break the streak became quieter and quieter until they stopped piping up entirely, as The Million Dollar Son went from future world champion to forgettable lower card performer.

DiBiase's contract expired in 2013, but by then his potential had long been devalued.
