10 Wrestlers WWE Fans Were Convinced Would Become Megastars (But Didn't)

4. Drew McIntyre

Lord, he was called 'The Chosen One', what more could one want?

Drew McIntyre was endorsed by none other than Vince McMahon himself upon arriving on SmackDown, and a short while later the man from Ayr became the Intercontinental Champion. Vince referred to McIntyre as a 'future world champion', a ringing endorsement if ever there was one, and it seemed unthinkable that McMahon's words would not come to pass.

Going into the Money in the Bank ladder match at WrestleMania XXVI, McIntyre was the clear favourite, but Jack Swagger shocked the world by coming from nowhere to grab the briefcase. McIntyre's stock was already dropping at this point, but the Scotsman's youth led many to believe that time was still on his side.

2011 saw McIntyre saddled with a losing streak gimmick, and one year later he found himself a part of comedy-trio 3MB. What had happened in the interim to change McIntyre's future from that of a world champion to one-third of a comedy act?

McIntyre, as Drew Galloway, has been a complete success outside of WWE however, picking up a number of major titles including our very own WCPW World Championship.

Will he return to WWE in the future to make the words of Mr. McMahon come true? Don't bet against it.

Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man.
