10 Wrestlers WWE Gave Up On In 2019

2. Luke Harper

An easy one, here, as there are several moments one can point to where WWE have clearly given up on Luke Harper:-

1. Vince McMahon deciding that he didn't like the guy because he couldn't do a convincing enough southern accent for him.

2. Vince McMahon deciding, again, that he didn't like the guy, this time for his role in a failed dark match that saw Drake Maverick trialled as EC3's manager.

3. The reported scrapped feud with Sami Zayn when both returned from injury over WrestleMania 35 weekend.

4. WWE adding time to his contract and taking Luke off the road when he requested his release in April.

5. Sending Harper back into the abyss after randomly bringing him back to reprise his alliance with Erick Rowan in September.

It's a shame, because Harper is one of the best big men in the business and, by all accounts, a lovely, lovely man behind the scenes. That his career is on ice because he realised he cannot prosper while working to WWE's framework sucks, though applying to trademark his old "Brodie Lee" ring name suggests he's already gearing up for life after the promotion.
