10 Wrestlers WWE Gave Up On In 2019

3. EC3

The most exciting in-ring performer he most certainly is not, but that WWE weren't able to get more from EC3 on the main roster is surprising.

The guy ticks loads of Vince McMahon's boxes. He's big, muscular, looks great in a suit, can draw heat when given a chance, plays a great heel, and is a fantastic talker. He's a born Sports Entertainer, basically, and while this workrate-heavy era makes it difficult for him between the ropes, EC3's positive attributes made him look like a surefire contention for main roster elevation.

Unfortunately, WWE gave up on 'The One-Percenter' somewhere between him leaving NXT and joining Raw.

EC3's main roster run was botched from the start, with WWE deciding to debut the excellent promo guy via a series of backstage segments in which he'd show up, not say a single word, then leave. A short 50/50 feud with Dean Ambrose followed. Afterwards, the former Derrick Bateman became 24/7 Championship fodder, and he's now sat at home nursing a concussion, having not competed since September.
