10 Wrestlers WWE Gave Up On In 2021
8. Bray Wyatt
For an example of just how quickly a seemingly untouchable superstar can fall out of favour with the man up top, look no further than the curious case of Bray Wyatt in 2021.
After being one of the company's biggest merch shifters from the moment he unveiled his Fiend-ish alter ego in 2019, Wyatt had rarely found himself out of the spotlight/main event on WWE programming. Divisive clashes with Seth Rollins, Goldberg, and Braun Strowman all suggested that Vince was still willing to force this creature down his fans' throats, regardless of whether they wanted to embrace the sometimes non-sensical booking that accompanied the creation or not.
Then, a black-goo and fire infested feud with Randy Orton dominated much of the conversation coming into 'Mania 37, only for Wyatt to shockingly fall to The Viper in yet another high-profile failure on The Grandest Stage. Yet, even with that loss, few could've imagined WWE parting ways with such a sure-fire moneymaker. But part ways they did, with Andrew Zarian of The Mat Men podcast stating that Wyatt was "being difficult" in the lead-up to his sudden departure in July.
