10 Wrestlers WWE Gave Up On In 2021

7. Eva Marie

Perhaps one of the strangest acquisitions in recent WWE history came to pass in May 2021, with one-time Total Diva, NXT, and SmackDown troll Eva Marie being brought back into the fold for... reasons?

Aside from being a natural heel, capable of eliciting a whole host of boos through simply taking the credit for unearned victories, Marie didn't offer anywhere near as much as the rest of her contemporaries both on the mic or in the ring. Hell, it even appeared as though the star herself wasn't entirely interested in being a part of the WWE circus, recently taking a break from the company to shoot a film.

Just a few months on from being heavily promoted through a series of vignettes and battling Alexa Bliss in front of a packed-out Allegiant Stadium at SummerSlam, though, Marie ultimately found herself on the outside looking in, with WWE's clear lack of a plan for the character becoming even more evident post-release in November.

Judging from her response, or lack of, on the back of her exit from WWE, it hardly seems as though this development will affect a star who is clearly relishing embracing other facets of the entertainment industry.
