To say it's been a rough ol' time since John Morrison decided to embark on another adventure in the land of Sports Entertainment in late 2019 would be putting it mildly.

A stale-on-arrival teaming with The Miz was a safe if unspectacular piece of business from the get-go, but Morrison still found a way to stand out from the crowd when given the time or space to show off his next-level parkour-infused stylings in-between the ropes.

With The Shaman of Sexy and The Awesome One being given a decent bit of attention coming into this year's Show of Shows, battling against Bad Bunny and Damian Priest in an unexpectedly riveting showcase, fans were forgiven for thinking there may actually be life in a Morrison solo run yet in 2021. And a long-awaited split from Miz a few months later seemed to finally set that wheel in motion.

However, what should have been the catalyst for a compelling singles climb back into relevancy soon devolved into an afterthought when Miz waltzed off to Dancing With the Stars, leaving Morrison being choked out by Karrion Kross and setting up shop on Main Event for the foreseeable.
