10 Wrestlers WWE Gave Up On In 2021

2. Kevin Owens

Ending on two stars now who both started 2021 with an almighty spring in their step. First up is the performer who took the self-professed Head of the Table to his limit at the Royal Rumble in January.

A few months removed from a rejuvenating Roman Reigns series, Kevin Owens may have been able to boast a WrestleMania victory over old pal Sami Zayn, but who was the real winner here? In the months that followed, KO was thrust into a rudderless IC title scene, failing to win that title on a number of attempts.

A body-breaking showing at Money in the Bank was fun, sure. But the likelihood of WWE doubling down on another KO run at the very top seems less likely by the week as he routinely finds himself being fed to the names Vince really wants to get behind.

In all honesty, it's impossible to escape the feeling that the Kevin Owens Show may be enjoying its last hurrah as we speak. With his contract coming to an end in early 2022, don't be too surprised to see this star Steen-roll his way out the door soon enough.
