10 Wrestlers WWE Have Given Up On In 2020

1. Shayna Baszler

Last Win: 18 May (Raw)

You hear all kinds of backstage reports on Shayna Baszler, most of which are likely true.

One minute she's a Paul Heyman favourite and being sent to the top of the women's division; the next she's doomed because Vince McMahon doesn't like her look, thinks she's too old, and doesn't grasp the gimmick. These divergent viewpoints have been reflected in her booking. 'The Queen of Spades' probably should have won the Royal Rumble, but didn't. She blitzed the competition inside the Elimination Chamber and should have felled Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 36, but didn't. She should have been presented as a surging, unstoppable monster when Lynch's pregnancy was announced, but didn't.

Shayna should have been on television this week, last week, and the week before, but wasn't.

Baszler is endemic to the Raw women's divisions struggles as a whole. The talent is there, unquestionably, it just isn't being utilised. Instead of exercising the full breadth of its resources, WWE is promoting dangerous performers like Nia Jax as title contenders in preparation for Charlotte Flair's all-conquering Wonder Woman run at the top.
