It's hard to be a "next of" in professional wrestling. There really was no "next" Hulk Hogan, or Steve Austin or The Rock (though Sonny Siaki sure did try), but perhaps the closest thing we have to the next Daniel Bryan is Kyle O'Reilly.

O'Reilly just represents the everyman type of wrestler. He's pretty average sized, and because of his relative normalness, he stands out in the crazy world of wrestling. Much like Bryan, his offense looks brutally realistic and makes you believe he can take down much larger opponents in convincing fashion.

While it's a shame to see him split up from his tag partner Bobby Fish, it would be interesting to see O'Reilly go it alone in an entirely new home. And really, Fish would be an excellent roster addition in NXT as well. But in the long-term, Kyle is the one who has the higher potential for becoming a breakout star.

It was rumored that he was set to join WWE a few months ago but it strangely hasn't happened yet. In fact, in a conference call in March, Triple H said that he has "no doubt" O'Reilly would someday join WWE. Whatever is keeping it from happening needs to be fixed soon, he's got some work to do.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
