10 Wrestlers WWE Must Sign Before 2017 Ends

5. Dalton Castle

If rumors are to be believed, then this one may happen before too long.

In terms of pure beloved characters in Ring of Honor, Dalton Castle ranks near the top. Over the past couple years his delightfully ridiculous act has turned him one of the most popular performers on the roster. He's also shown he can go in the ring and deliver entertaining matches with the likes of Okada and Christopher Daniels. While Castle recently seemed to be in line for a major push in ROH, it looks like WWE may be where he ends up landing.

If Castle showed up in NXT he would assuredly receive a huge pop and be treated as a top player right out of the gate...if he were able to keep his gimmick. Therein lies the issue. WWE may not be so thrilled about “The Boys." They may have to stay at home. The company could take the TNA route—when Castle had a couple of tryout matches with them—and turn his followers into women, but they may give him a new act entirely.

He’s a talented enough guy to make something new work, but it would be a shame to see him not continue on with what’s already been working. Either way, he’s likely to make even more of a name for himself in the business over the next few years. We just don't know what that name will be.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
