10 Wrestlers WWE Pushed Way Over Their Heads

6. Jack Swagger

Jack Swagger will ultimately be remembered as a WWE flop, and this is largely down to the way he was shoved down fans' throats early in his career. Tall and athletic, his amateur wrestling background gave him an air of legitimacy, and he was a good worker too. He was no Kurt Angle, but Swagger's collegiate pedigree helped him develop a balanced in-ring style blending technical mat wrestling with powerful throws and suplexes.

Despite these positive traits, Swagger was badly lacking in the most important department: charisma. Unfortunately, Jack's inability to project a compelling character meant he was never able to forge a lasting connection with the crowd, and therefore wasn't equipped to carry a World Title.

That didn't stop Vince McMahon from eventually making him World Heavyweight champion in 2010. He was booked like a complete loser throughout his 79-day reign, and lost so many non-title matches that the one time WWE did decide to give him a clean win over a legitimate superstar (Randy Orton at Extreme Rules '10), nobody cared.

His main event run will forever be mocked, but Swagger should've never been put in that position in the first place.
