10 Wrestlers WWE Regret Releasing

Mickie James' story is very similar to Gail Kim's, but while the chances of Kim ever rejoining WWE are incredibly slim, Mickie made a full-time return to the company in January. She has since slotted into a comfortable gatekeeper's role on Monday Night Raw, and will likely continue at that level for the rest of her career.

Like Gail, Mickie was a fantastic women's wrestler at a time when WWE weren't exactly known for making the most of the division. She engaged in a number of memorable stories throughout her run (particularly with Trish Stratus from 2005-06), established herself as one of the company's best female workers, and scored an impressive six Women's/Divas Championships in the process. Like most of her peers, however, James was often let down by poor creative direction throughout her tenure, with the "Piggie James" angle particularly egregious.

Mickie was let go by WWE in April 2010, and signed for TNA shortly after. She played a significant role in the Knockouts Division, winning the championship three times before her eventual departure. Beth Phoenix was struck by a career-threatening knee injury one month later, leaving SmackDown's women's roster extremely shorthanded, and the company full of regret (according to the Wrestling Observer).
