10 Wrestlers WWE Should Have Pushed More

7. Charlie Haas

Charlie Haas seemingly had all the tools to be a somebody in WWE. He had a respectable collegiate wrestling background, was in good shape and, as his work in 2008 revealed, could be absolutely hilarious.

His tag team with Shelton Benjamin and work with Kurt Angle during The Ruthless Aggression Era was great. Many saw both him and Benjamin as future singles stars. 2004's Draft Lottery split the pair up, providing a glimmer of hope that that stardom prediction was about to pan out.

For Haas, it actually meant pottering about in a goofy love triangle angle with Jackie Gayda and Dawn Marie. From there, the Seton Hall University standout didn't even find himself in midcard purgatory so much as dark match hell, a scary place from which many fade away.

An '07 reunion with Shelton Benjamin offered a fleeting hope before it was quietly forgotten in November. In 2008, Haas started getting over quickly with an incredibly silly impressionist gimmick. While rumours abounded that it was given to him as some kind of backstage political punishment, the former WWE Tag Team Champion revealed some serious comedic chops.

Audiences got a good laugh out of his spoofing of other wrestlers. While the gimmick didn't scream main event, it had plenty left in the tank when it was unceremoniously dropped in 2009. Haas spent the rest of his time in WWE looking at the lights. It's hard to even say just how high his ceiling was given he was barely allowed off the ground.
