Nominated For: Best Picture, Best Original Score, Best Original Song, Best Costume Design, Best Production Design, Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Mixing

It was a big 'ol 2018 for Shad Gaspard. The former Cryme Tymer went from gang star to super star, appearing in not only one of the most critically and commercially successful video games of the year, but also Marvel Studio's ridiculously popular Black Panther, the third most profitable film of the six thousand or so MCU offerings so far.

The movie has been tipped for seven Academy Awards, including the coveted Best Picture gong, and it was helped along its way by Shad Gaspard filling in for Winston Duke during the Jabari Tribe warlord's fight scenes. Because he's so heartwarmingly humble, Gaspard's name doesn't appear anywhere in the credits. But trust us: he's definitely in it.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
