10 Wrestlers You Had No Idea Wrestled On TNA One Night Only
3. Best Friends
Long before they were producing quality Parking Lot Brawls with Ortiz and Santana, Chuck Taylor and Trent were both victims to One Night Only appearances. The use of the word 'victims' is indicative of how piss-poor their matches were.
It wasn't necessarily their fault, of course; Impact management at the time just didn't care.
Taylor's bouts in August 2016 saw him defeat Rockstar Spud in a tedious affair, centred entirely around Spud's mistreatment of the outside talent that involved 'The Kentucky Gentleman', JT Dunn, and Caleb Konley. This allowed him to then enter a multi-man Ladder Match later in the night that meant sod all because it was One Night Only. It wasn't meant to have any importance. He got a spot in taking everyone out with a ladder, though.
As for Trent? He wrestled under the alias of Ace Vetter because lol why not, and had an alright showing vs. Manik that saw the now-former X Division Champion take a brutal Sexy Chucky Knee to the back of the skull. This propelled him into the main event Ultimate X Match alongside Low Ki, Sonjay Dutt, and Rashad Cameron, in which Vetter was used predominantly to fill a space.
The pair very easily could have become huge stars under the Impact banner if they had been taken seriously. Damn you, Impact management of the mid-2010s.
