In terms of cult favourite wrestlers of the 2000s, they don’t really get much more cult than the beloved Shark Boy.

Shark Boy is these days likely best known for his clam juice-swigging time in TNA/Impact Wrestling for over a decade, although it was the Brian Pillman Memorial Shows that really started to ignite the buzz around this fin-tastic, fin-omenal performer. So much so, his increasing popularity saw this unique character snapped up by WCW in 1999.

His time within the waters of World Championship Wrestling didn’t exactly go swimmingly for Shark Boy, and he was reduced to sporadic appearances on WCW Saturday Night and WCW Thunder. Ultimately, WCW decided that it was more “sink” than “swim” with the Shark Boy character, and thus decided to cut bait and release him back out into the vast oceans of the independent scene barely six months into his contract.
