10 Wrestlers You Totally Forgot Worked For AEW

7. Kalisto

This recent development was easily forgotten because, plainly, it wasn't particularly good.

The actual pitch was cute enough; as part of FTR's programme with the Lucha Bros., they dressed up as Las Super Ranas (The Super Frogs) and smash-and-grabbed the AAA World Tag Team Titles. This was very goofy, but the bit worked - on paper and to an extent, anyway - when Dax and Cash rechristened themselves "living legends" of the lucha form. As a way of getting this over, they worked Samuray Del Sol and Aerostar on the November 3, 2021 Dynamite. The idea was to beat an exciting act in a hot TV match to legitimise their bragging before the wronged heroes prevailed.

Del Sol himself performed well in the match, but it otherwise fell apart because Aerostar was at least two seconds behind everybody else in the ring. FTR sprinted into various positions to feed, but Aerostar took an eternity launching into his high spots. The flow of the match was broken, and it all felt contrived as a result.

It was the former Kalisto's only appearance to date, and it's likely to be his last; he isn't a big enough star to repair the relationship after he pissed off the wrong people.
