10 Wrestlers You Will Never See In WWE Hall Of Fame
8. Marty Jannetty
Wrestling fans need to stop calling the perceived lesser wrestler in a tandem the "Marty Jannetty of the team," because Marty Jannetty was f*cking awesome. That his name has become a pejorative does him a huge disservice. Maybe he wasn't as spectacular as Shawn Michaels (but who was?!) and his post-Rockers career didn't take off, but he's an all-time great tag wrestler who'd have likely enjoyed a fruitful singles run too if not for his myriad personal problems.
Those personal problems are why Jannetty will never be inducted. He is Randy 'The Ram' Robinson made real, even in 2020, he's combing social media for opinions on girls who may or may not be lying about their age.
No wrestler has ever been released by WWE more than Jannetty, whom the company have cut six times. Attacking a police officer, wrestling Michaels while intoxicated, a $26.7 million court case for accidentally breaking a jobber's neck, and another arrest are amongst the reasons. In 2016, he joined a class-action lawsuit alleging WWE had concealed the risks of traumatic brain injuries. It was dismissed in September 2018.
Jannetty admitted that he was still having trouble with drugs and alcohol as recently as last summer. He needs help, though he's adamant he won't return to rehab for a third time.
