10 Wrestlers You Will Never See In WWE Hall Of Fame

5. Steve Williams

Though he cut his teeth in Bill Watts' Mid-South Wrestling and when a full decade without getting pinned in the United States (between 1987 and 1997), the bulk of Steve Williams' success came in Japan, where he was a considered a top foreign star alongside the likes of Stan Hansen and Terry Gordy.

A big, bruising badass and certified bomb-dropper, he was tailor-made for puroresu and had cultivated a reputation as a real-life ass-kicker through wars with All Japan's Four Pillars and as part of the Miracle Violence Connection with Gordy. This led to him being earmarked for a considerable push upon finally arriving in the WWF in 1998, though this disastrous run there is what keeps him from the Hall of Fame.

The name "Steve Williams" is synonymous with failure in Vince McMahon's world. Pinpointed for a potential World Title programme with 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin, 'Dr. Death' was a close Jim Ross ally and supposedly handpicked to win the farcical Brawl for All tournament. Willams' run went to hell when Bart Gunn knocked him out in the semi-finals. A torn hamstring suffered in that match put him on the shelf for months and Williams, whose body was already ground to dust, was cooked.
