10 Wrestlers You Won't Believe Beat The Undertaker

3. Maven (Royal Rumble 2002; SmackDown February 7, 2002)

The Undertaker was already well into his more grounded "American Bad Ass" persona when he turned heel toward the end of 2001, but the turn allowed him to show a new side of his character -- the bully. 'Taker won the Hardcore Title from Rob Van Dam, then went on to put both Hardy Boyz out of action as his reign of terror continued. At the 2002 Royal Rumble, the Hardys returned, looking for revenge on "Big Evil." They would be denied, as the former WWE Champion beat them down once more. However, Undertaker was still distracted by the young tag team when Maven, fresh off his victory on season one of Tough Enough, entered the ring. Sensing his opportunity, Maven nailed the Phenom in the back with a dropkick, sending him over the ropes and out to the floor! A furious Undertaker re-entered the ring, eliminating Maven and beating him around the arena. A couple of weeks later on Smackdown, Maven was granted a shot at The Undertaker's Hardcore Championship. The decimation that started at the Royal Rumble continued, but The Rock -- Undertaker's opponent at the upcoming No Way Out Pay-Per-View -- made his presence known. He hit the ring during the anything goes match and nailed 'Taker with a chairshot. Maven then made the cover and scored the win -- he had bested The Undertaker once again, and this time, championship gold was on the line.
