6. Why Almost No One Looks At The Camera In WWE

John Cena
WWE

Here's an explanation for something that you may not have actually ever clocked, but has been present on WWE television for quite some time.

You see, whenever the man who can't be seen shows up on the likes of Raw and SmackDown, John Cena has a habit of looking directly at and talking into the camera during his entrances.

He'll show some respect to Stu the cameraman and then set off running down to the squared-circle.

What you may not have realised, though, is that there is actually a rule in place within WWE that anyone not named "John Cena" is not allowed to speak into that equipment.

That's according to Cody Rhodes, with The American Nightmare eventually revealing to SPORTBible in 2024 that while he was able to break a lot of the pre-existing rules in the company after he made his return in 2022, the "no camera talking" rule is still "a pretty big on-air rule," and one that he doesn't want to see himself or anyone else break.

Though Rhodes did admit that he likely has broken it a few times here and there.

Wrestlers are obviously still allowed to chat into the hard cam, but after all these years it was officially revealed by Rhodes that there are some cameras reserved for invisible men.
