10 Wrestling Careers Damaged By WWE Backstage Politics

4. Ken Kennedy

In 2009, Mr.Kennedy was on the rise as one of the WWE's stars, but that would soon be cut short by the pull of a much more dominant figure in the WWE. He had just returned from injury with several vignettes advertising his return, with him getting the win for his team in a ten man tag-match on Raw, but just 4 days later Kennedy was released. Allegedly, Randy Orton claimed that Kennedy had hurt him during that match and that he was a bad worker, even though Orton would take no action or time to recover from this injury in subsequent weeks. With that, Kennedy was released due to Orton's complaints. It seems unlikely that WWE had any intention to release Kennedy before hand, considering they had advertised his return and waited for him to be in good health. Whether there's anything more to the Orton story is unknown, but the two men did used to be friends. Regardless, there should be some manner of loyalty between wrestlers, after all, they rely and depend on each other in the ring each night, there has to be some manner of respect. Orton clearly wasn't hurt longtime, meaning Kennedy certainly didn't deserve his release.
