10 Wrestling Championship Reigns That Didn't Fit The Wrestler

5. Jamie Noble As ROH World Champion

No matter the state of Ring Of Honor these days, it's still important to remember what they've done for the larger wrestling world.

Their World Championship is a reputable who's who of talent, but one of the names that sticks out just a little bit is one James Gibson, better known to you and I as Jamie Noble.

The trailer-trash cruiserweight left the WWE in 2004, wishing to take a break after a recent staph infection. After a short stint in NJPW (teaming with Daniel Bryan and all) Gibson debuted in ROH and quickly won their World Title in a match featuring Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels and champion CM Punk. I doubt many people can say they've beaten all three men individually, let alone in one match.

The difference between James Gibson and Jamie Noble is astounding. Noble was trying to sleep with Torrie Wilson and having matches with on-screen girlfriend/ex-girlfriend Nidia, making the sight of Gibson as top guy of a then indie-darling company almost baffling to the uninitiated.

Did WWE capitalise on this when Noble returned later in the year? Of course they didn't, they made him part of a weird dog-themed tag team with Kid Kash. Obvs.
