10 Wrestling Championship Reigns That Didn't Fit The Wrestler
6. Ken Shamrock As WWF Tag Team Champion
Ken Shamrock is a mean-looking dude.
A UFC legend who made a career fighting in cages, called himself 'The World's Most Dangerous Man', introduced the concept of tapping out to a submission to the WWF and would scream like a banshee if you made him mad.
Ken Shamrock did not need any friends.
But that didn't stop him getting some.
In November 1998, reigning Intercontinental Champion Shamrock joined the villainous Corporation stable. Led by Mr. McMahon, The Corporation played out pretty much the same as The Authority previously mentioned, except this was the '90s and things were a little more intense and video peaked at 480p.
As part of the faction, Shamrock tagged with the Big Boss Man and captured the Tag Team straps in December, making both men dual champions. The problem here again comes to the character of the champion. Shamrock was and is a cage fighter. Most MMA bouts of any level of professionalism will show that it's all about the two competitors in the ring/octagon. Despite what UFC 229 may have looked like, MMA does not do tag teaming.
Couple this with the moniker of 'The World's Most Dangerous Man' and the novelty of the power of friendship doesn't really belong.
