In today's wrestling environment, fans are invested in seeing their favorite grapplers victorious - but they're more invested in seeing great action. Today's wrestling audiences are more attuned than ever to the fact that wrestling's not a competitive sport, and that there's a lot of great action out there in the industry. At any given show, they expect to see the best for their money.

Thankfully, most of the world's top organizations can deliver. Whether it's WWE, New Japan, Ring of Honor, EVOLVE, CMLL, or wherever else, great matches are becoming more and more commonplace, and to acknowledge them, fans invented the opposite of the "Boring!" chant - "This is awesome!"

The "This is awesome!" chant started in Ring of Honor about a decade ago, popping up when "smart" wrestling fans wanted to herald the incredible action they were seeing. It soon found its way to WWE (The Undertaker versus Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 25 seems to be the first instance of the chant on the big stage), and today, everywhere English-speaking fans see live wrestling, great matches will be met with "This is awesome!"

Unfortunately, the chant has become diluted - it seems like every halfway-decent match on a WWE show will be declared awesome if it hits the eight-minute mark. Still, when the chant is warranted, it adds a lot to the environment of a classic match.
