10 Wrestling Characters That Had The Plug Pulled On Them Immediately

8. Vade Hansen

At least Mordecai got a couple matches out of his vignettes! Poor Vade Hansen got nothing.

It was rumoured that WWE writer Freddie Prinze Jr. was high on Hansen, and wanted to have him lead a series of X-Men like “mutant” wrestlers to take their shot at Undertaker. 'Taker would, of course, beat them one after the next until Hansen and him would go one-on-one at WrestleMania 25.

They never got anywhere near that destination. Not one of those mutants ever showed their faces, and Hansen’s creepy promos just quit airing on SmackDown. The plug was effectively pulled before he ever appeared in front of a live crowd.

While no one knows for sure what the story is, the rumour is that Vince McMahon saw him in person at a show backstage and was none too impressed with his size. He felt no one would buy into a match with him against The Deadman, and basically decided to let him go on the spot.

While we can be upset that we never saw Hansen vs. 'Taker...we can take some solace in getting arguably the greatest match of all time with Michaels vs. Taker at 'Mania that year instead.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
