10 Wrestling Combinations That Shouldn't Have Worked But Did

9. The Acclaimed And Billy Gunn

Few could have predicted that The Acclaimed and The Gunn Club teaming up for some skits would have led to one of those teams becoming AEW Tag Team Champions.

After a couple of confusing weeks of each team turning on each other and then turning back, their break-up was solidified when Austin and Colton Gunn attacked their father on an episode of Dynamite. Max Caster and Anthony Bowens made the save, reuniting with Daddy Ass.

The root of this combo's success can be described in four simple words - "Scissor Me, Daddy Ass!" This catchphrase took over the wrestling world and turned the talented duo into megastars almost overnight.

Of course, it helps that both Caster and Bowens are super charismatic and that Billy always looks pleased as punch whenever he's with The Acclaimed. Ironically, he looks way prouder of them than he even did with his own kids.

Whilst this pairing may not last forever, it's almost guaranteed that "Scissor Me, Daddy Ass" will live on in the hearts of minds of wrestling fans for the rest of time.
