10 Wrestling Documentaries That Accidentally Uncovered Major Scoops

8. Vince McMahon: Not Exactly Nice

Who knew that a professional wrestling promoter who held a show after an independent contractor died on it might not be the most canny of blokes?

Most people. Vince is Vince.

His treatment of Kevin Owens following his only-decent match against Chris Jericho at WrestleMania 33 qualifies as a scoop, however, because the audience had never seen this version of the man. Captured on the Kevin Owens 365 special, Vince shook his head "no" when Owens asked if they were "cool". This scene collided quite awfully with the cartoonish vision of Vince dreamed up by fans who for years had read reports of his explosive gasket blow-ups. That image isn't pleasant, either, but it's familiar at least: an accepted part of his compelling persona.

The ice-cold, abusive dismissal of Kevin Owens provided insight into how cruel a man Vince is, how he is able to manipulate those underneath him. This was the biggest night of Kevin's calendar year, the thing he drove towards when bumping in the backwater burgs.

He didn't perform, but he wasn't given the arm around the shoulder treatment. Vince looked upon him like he was a piece of sh*t.

This sort of candid footage only deepened the idea among disillusioned WWE fans that the company wasn't worthy of their support.
