Muhammad Hassan returned to the ring on 28 April for a match against Papadon at an independent show called Dynasty: King of Thrones. That was his first in-ring wrestling appearances for 13 years, and there's one simple reason for that: it took Hassan that long to get over his WWE release.

Discussing his comeback with Pro Wrestling Sheet, the former WWE heel said he couldn't cope with the backlash his controversial character received or the fact WWE put him on the scrap heap in 2005. After departing the company, he shied away from wrestling completely and embarked on a different life.

He's determined to make up for lost time, and he's even interested in a one-off WWE appearance.

The only thing that lured Hassan back into the wrestling bubble was how much he missed the atmosphere backstage and being around the locker room with friends. Once he finally came to terms with his WWE termination, Hassan decided to dip his toe in again.
