Bruce Prichard has detailed on his "Something To Wrestle With" podcast how the Big Boss Man was posted missing for a run-in spot at the 1998 Survivor Series; Boss Man had been slated to smash Steve Austin with a chair shot, but Gerald Brisco had to fill in for him, and he ended up gently tapping Austin. After the spot, Stone Cold was on the warpath, and he admitted during his own Steve Austin Show that he tore off down the corridor when he returned backstage. He was looking for Boss Man.

Austin found the guilty party enjoying some light banter with The Undertaker, and he was p*ssed. He admitted on the podcast that he tore Boss Man a new one verbally, and it was probably the "loudest cuss job" he'd ever given someone in his career.

Boss Man was apologetic, probably because he realised that he'd missed such a major spot. Austin maintains that such anger was only because he'd been looking forward to working with Boss Man in a mini-program after Survivor Series.
