3. Lex Luger Almost Killed Himself In Prison

Despite the fact he's in a wheelchair and is (physically) a million miles away from the musclebound specimen he was in his prime, Lex Luger considers himself lucky. A spiralling path of drug and alcohol abuse threatened to derail his life at the turn of the millennium, and his irresponsible lifestyle indirectly led to the demise of Miss. Elizabeth.

On Sean Mooney's Prime Time podcast, Lex told of the night Elizabeth died, recalled how he was arrested and admitted to suicidal thoughts when sitting alone in a jail cell.

Luger had a lot of time to think in the cell. Kept apart from other inmates due to his celebrity status, the wrestler's mind started racing and he thought about taking his own life. As officers had taken precautions to ensure suicide wasn't an option (including taking Lex's shoelaces), he figured he could climb up on a small dividing wall in the cell and fall backwards onto his head.

Even writing that is bleak, but that was where Luger's head was at back then.
