Most wrestling insiders agree that Shawn Michaels was an insufferable dude from the mid-'90s right through until his supposedly-career-ending back injury in 1998. Whether he was ruling the locker room with an iron fist as chief of The Kliq or stuffing bananas down ludicrously-tight shorts as part of DX, Shawn was a one man riot.

He wasn't a perfidious, rebellious d*ck 100% of the time however.

The Brooklyn Brawler revealed during a chat with Wrestlezone that Shawn made sure to make him look like a star when they wrestled at Madison Square Garden on 15 November 1997. Before the match, Michaels said he realised how much working at the famous venue meant to Brawler, and assured the career jobber he'd do everything to have a good match with him in front of his family.

Keep in mind this bout happened just six days after the infamous 'Screwjob' at Survivor Series '97, so things would've been pretty tense in Shawn's world.
