His brother, meanwhile, had grand plans that were very much his own. This time, WWE creative weren't so receptive.

On Lilian Garcia's Chasing Glory podcast, Matt told of his frustration when teaming with Bray Wyatt as the 'Deleters Of Worlds'. It wasn't Bray who annoyed him, though. No, it was the writers for refusing to take his ideas on board and focus more on pre-tapes than live matches; Matt doesn't think the team needed to wrestle every week, and he's probably right.

Instead of working throwaway matches, Hardy wanted to hint at Wyatt's prior storyline in 2017 with Randy Orton. After Orton burned down his lair, Matt wished to peel back another layer of his character and reveal that Bray had been homeless since. Then, he'd invite him to come live in the Hardy Compound and all sorts of silliness would commence.

The creative team didn't dig it, and they plodded on with their planned feud between the Deleters and The B-Team. Yeah, because that was so thrilling. In fact, ditch the sarcasm. Matt's idea to tell a story was vastly superior to what WWE had in mind.
