Previously, The Big Show had told Steve Austin on his podcast that he planned to wrestle for another few years before hanging up his singlet full-time. The literal giant's role on WWE television has never been more sparse; he's rarely around on week-to-week television, being used more as a part-time special attraction.

During an interview with 790 The Ticket, Big Show claimed that 2017 will actually be his final year inside the ring as a regular performer. All signs point to WWE promoting a clash between Show and Shaquille O'Neal come WrestleMania 33, with seeds being sown for that bout at this year's supershow.

Currently in training for the match, Big Show said in the interview that he wants to be in the best shape he can be for his swansong. This indicates that the guy won't be around too much longer after facing Shaq at WrestleMania, likely stepping away from the ring for a while before receiving the WWE Hall Of Fame treatment.

Previously, fans had been chanting "Please Retire" at Big Show, but he had stated he wasn't going anywhere.
