Standing dejected in the middle of the ring for what was then thought to be the last time, Ric Flair couldn't prevent his eyes from filling up with tears. The 'Nature Boy' had just produced one more magical match with Shawn Michaels, tearing it up at WrestleMania XXIV and retiring from active wrestling.

Around a year later, Flair was facing Hulk Hogan on a special Hulkamania Tour, before making his way to TNA. When pressed on his blatant disregard for the Hall Of Fame and retirement treatment handed to him by WWE, Flair at the time said he just wanted to continue wrestling.

Now, as revealed on the man's own podcast, this is a decision he greatly regrets. WWE weren't prepared to allow Flair to continue working matches after 'Mania XXIV, so Ric sought out avenues away from the organisation that would.

Whilst he has stated before that he never really enjoyed his time in TNA, Flair has rarely if ever said he regrets actually wrestling after that bout with Shawn Michaels.
