If you happen to cringe any time Michael Cole refers to Seth Rollins as "Becky's boyfriend", Becky Lynch as "Seth's girl", the occasional ass slap that came from Becky and the all-round high school love in storyline the real-life couple have on WWE TV, don't worry. You're not alone.

'The Man' isn't fond of it either.

She told talkSPORT that WWE ignored pleas to keep the relationship private and exploited it on TV in the worst possible way despite apprehension from both that it wouldn't do them any favours. Recognising WWE's black and white need to present stories in simple form, Becky jokingly referred to the writers as "masters of subtlety".

It seems Lynch knows being portrayed as nothing more than Seth's girlfriend ruins the illusion that her character is an independently strong bad-ass heroine. Although she enjoys working with Rollins, Becky never wanted it to become so kitsch.
