9. Santino Marella Was Proud Of Santina

The phrase "it was a different time" springs to mind when talking about WrestleMania XXV's atrocious 'Miss. WrestleMania' fiasco. Definitely-not-female Santino Marella dressed up in drag, pretended to be his "sister" Santina and earned himself a tiara nobody clamours to see at Axxess.

That Battle Royal win is one Marella remains proud of.

During an interview with Chris Van Vliet, everyone's favourite wrestling clown (aside from Doink, obviously) admitted that he loved playing the Santina character because he knew Vince McMahon was popping hard backstage. Maybe that says it all, but nobody can blame Santino for trying to please his boss.

Although the gig was supposed to be a one-off thing at 'Mania, WWE and Marella were having so much fun that they decided to extend the torture for another few months. Who needs to take women's wrestling seriously anyway, eh?
