Let it be known that Rusev is a sly, sly dog.

During an interview with At Cafe, the forgotten SmackDown man (who enjoys a holiday himself, albeit a different kind to Bret Hart) dished the details on how he first met Lana when the pair signed for WWE. After shaking hands and saying hello during one of those mass handshaking sessions pro wrestling is so fond of, Ru-Ru homed in for the kill.

He was just as impressed as then-NXT higher-up Dusty Rhodes that the stunning blonde could speak perfect Russian. Spotting the opportunity to bag himself a cool gimmick and get to know Lana, Rusev pitched to Dusty that she become his valet. The 'American Dream' liked it, and that was the opening Ru needed for love.

How smooth is that? Rusev eyed up Lana, liked her skill set and decided to combine his career with personal interest by being rather forward. Luckily for him, the 'Ravishing Russian' liked him too, and the couple hit it off quickly. Aw.
