10 Wrestling Facts We Didn’t Know Last Week (July 26)

9. Bret Hart Turned Down Raw Reunion Because It's Summer

It's been reported that Jim Ross turned down the chance to appear at Raw Reunion out of loyalty to Tony Khan and AEW's locker room. You'd be forgiven for thinking that Bret Hart, who was at Double Or Nothing to show off the new AEW Title, was thinking along the same lines. He wasn't.

The 'Hitman' just fancied enjoying more of the sunny Calgary weather.

That is not a joke. The Wrestling Observer reported this week that Hart knocked back WWE because the weather is so good where he lives right now. Bret has told those closest to him that he won't be taking any more bookings over the summer because he wants to soak up those rays. More power to him.

It's certainly an original reason for turning WWE down. Hart could've channelled Terry Funk by saying his horse was sick, but he decided to be upfront and honest about his intentions to slap on some sun screen and relax. It's not like he would've been doing anything worthwhile in Tampa anyway.
