9. Jim Ross Was Never A Fan Of Moving The Announce Desk

For the purposes of creating a clear contrast in presentation between both shows, WWE made the decision to move the announce desk back onto the entrance stage on Monday Night Raw. This isn't the first time this has happened, back in 2002 management made the call, again looking to create differences between Raw and SmackDown.

Michael Cole, Byron Saxton and Corey Graves looked comfortable on Monday, but the shift in position prompted Jim Ross to give his two cents. Speaking on his podcast, The Ross Report, JR said that he was never a fan of calling from the entrance ramp. In fact, he found it made his job more challenging.

The main reason for his distaste was due to heat that would blast he and Jerry Lawler when pyrotechnics were used. As anyone who regularly tunes into WWE programming knows, each episode of Raw opens with a smattering of fireworks, fire and explosions.

Ross cared little for this, claiming the broadcast position was intensely hot during shows and not fun to work at all.
